Heritage Open Day

View Canning’s history at this delightful 1870s homestead with a guided tour. There will be a variety of stalls and demonstrations including models of ships and tools from the Hand Tool Preservation Society. Be charmed by the volunteer fire brigade’s vintage fire truck and watch the Machinery Preservation Society demonstrate their working heritage engines. There will also be a plant stall and a fundraising stand for Perth Children’s Hospital.

Climb aboard a free bus tour of the local heritage spots and learn some stories of the time. There will be some fun activities for the kids, playing games from years gone by, together with some well known ones. There will be in character story time at 11am. If you’re feeling peckish enjoy a Devonshire Tea with fresh scones in the gardens and a sausage sizzle.
