How I Felt is the first showing of work by Sydney artist David Art Wales in 20 years. The exhibition features 150 works on felt, each dissecting how it felt for the artist to move back to Sydney after 30 years in New York City. Wales uses local nostalgia as a starting point but his tone is far from sentimental. In this world, a Golden Gaytime is an Old'n Graytime and Midlife Toil subs for Midnight Oil. Thankfully, the gallows humour is balanced by the artist's gleeful sense of the absurd.

RSVP for the opening reception for How I Felt, on 25 May from 6 to 8pm on Facebook event page. Grahame Bond, creator of absurdist Aussie masterpiece, Aunty Jack, will be guest of honour.
