Albany Sinfonia’s collaborative performance with acclaimed Perth ensemble, Viola Dana, promises to be a cinematic sensation. Orana Cinemas Albany hosts an authentic silent movie experience, featuring the adored 1924 movie, Sherlock Jr., directed by and starring slapstick comedy great, Buster Keaton.

Film score composer and violist, Kathy Potter, says, ‘Viola Dana are very excited about going down to Albany to perform with the Sinfonia again. We were bowled over by the warm welcome the Sinfonia gave to us.’ Artistic Director, Neville Talbot’s ‘dynamic and detailed’ conducting, coupled with gleaming local talent and ‘a wonderful bunch of musicians’ from the Albany Sinfonia promises a sensational event, and a first of its kind for Orana Cinemas Albany.

The live score accompaniment to Sherlock Jr will be complimented by Albany Sinfonia’s performance of epic movie and game soundtrack themes including Lord of the Rings and Star Trek.

Amidst the plush red seating of the local cinema, this live music movie experience brings together community and professional musicians with contemporary classical music and comedy genius to create a family-friendly event to inspire.
