Sculptural Basketry Twining Workshop

Sculptural fibre artist, Catriona Pollard, will be running a full-day sculptural basketry workshop that celebrates the ancient art of twining, a beautiful weaving technique that has been used throughout the ages.

Workshop participants will learn how to weave a basket using beautiful polished hemp as well as creating striking patterns using traditional basketry techniques. For those not as new to twining, you will learn how to twine sculptural forms with more advanced techniques.

During this full-day basketry workshop, there will be time to explore this beautiful weaving technique. Over the day we will be making two small baskets so you will leave confident in the technique, and how to start and do multiple finishes. It’s a small class so you get hands-on tuition from an expert. All materials included.
