Fashion Chelsea

From the designers who brought you Opulence in 2017, Fashion Chelsea and FILFY RISH
present Situations Vacant, a runway event and art installation space like no other. Featuring work from young, innovative designers WillemWorldWide and SAAKA as well as Fashion Chelsea and FILFY RISH themselves. Telling the tale
of a lone creature ravaging the ruins of human society as we know it creating
resourceful yet somehow opulent coverings, Situations Vacant is an immersive
fashion narrative. Unaware of any other sentient being in current existence the creature still feels an urge to adorn itself in selected objects salvaged from the
refuse rubble. An exploration of what fashion can mean when there is no one left to
impress. Forward thinking and nothing like your average runway, the designers hope
to give a glimpse at possible trajectories of the fashion industry and fashion as a
concept as we move into the near and very distant future. With a focus on small
batch production and sustainability, each designer provides insight to some of the major ethical dilemmas confronting the fashion industry.
