Rising from the Munich underground in 2007, Ilian Tape was founded by prolific brother-duo Dario and Marco Zenker after years of deep involvement in the Bavarian electronic and hip-hop scene. Defining their trademark sound and style through patience and commitment to the label’s motto, “We don’t care about the hype, we just do what we love!”, the Zenker Brothers have impeccably curated their artistic output over the last decade and now hold a platform of one of the most innovative and consistent independent labels in modern techno.

Besides their Ilian Tape focus, the Brothers are well known for their long format back-to-back sets and a high volume output on notable labels including Tresor, 50Weapons, Marcel Dettmann Records, Index Marcel Fengler, !K7 and The Trilogy Tapes. Constantly drawing from their influences in Detroit, reggae, dub, jazz, hip-hop and breakbeat, their sonic versatility and broad palette is responsible for some of the “deepest, trippiest introspective techno out there” and this is mirrored in their acclaimed DJ sets, holding residencies at Blitz Munich and on the air with RinseFM, regularly being invited to play fabric, Berghain and Tresor and frequenting the Euro festival circuit.

Ilian Tape has built a reputation as a solid crew of curators, collectors and artistic talent, hosting the main output of current sensations Skee Mask, Stenny, Andrea, Laksa and DJ Plant Texture as well as introducing Djrum to a wider audience with 2016 favourite “Untitled 9”. Named by Mixmag as one of the 15 “Most influential techno labels of the last decade”, Ilian Tape is a zeitgeist of modern techno, distilling an experimental spirit and a “broken” bass heavy mentality towards functional dance music.
