St John’s Catholic Parish Mitcham will hold its 66th annual fete. There will be something for everyone, young or old.

There will be rides for children of all ages including free rides for toddlers. There will be face painting and a colouring competition. The pre-loved clothes will again be a leading light in the recycled fashion stakes with over 4,000 items available for purchase.

This year the Food Court will see the inclusion of paella, frozen yoghurt and the Coon Toastie Truck along with the regular foodie stalls offering a wide variety of culinary delights. There will of course be the traditional place to rest from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the delights of a Devonshire tea or take in the ambiance of the all new Indian Restaurant. 2019 will see the inclusion of a fresh food corner in a market atmosphere. Be early to purchase your supplies of fresh fruit, vegetables and free range eggs.

What’s a fete without great opportunities for everyone to pick up real bargains? There will be the usual large supply of used books pre-loved toys, plants and see\ and of course bric a brac for the avid bargain hunter. In addition, there will be arts and crafts stalls as well as a silent memorabilia auction and great fun and entertainment from the main stage. There will also be the option to pick up a fabulous item to be auctioned throughout the day.

Of course, there’s the customary raffle so be sure to get a few tickets in the major raffle. There are 12 prizes including a remarkable first prize of a $2000 shopping voucher. All for just $2 a ticket. So, come and join in the fun and experience why this fabulous annual Mitcham event has maintained its energy for 66 years.
