To celebrate the Winter Solstice, David’s is holding an eight-course banquet that will hero a whole suckling pig, slow-cooked to perfection for the entire family to enjoy.
A family restaurant at heart, David’s has always placed time around the table with loved ones as one of the most important rituals of life. Guests will be nestled around a long family table, feasting on delicious suckling pork—a style of cooking that is enjoyed by Shanghai locals. Leaving nothing to waste, the entire pig will be beautifully showcased from nose to tail.
Expect a delectable eight-course banquet that includes:
- Pork crackling “popcorn” seasoned with five-spice salt and mandarin powder.
- Suckling pig terrine with “spicy vinegar dressing” and rice crackers.
- Spicy salad of shaved pig’s ear with master stock, daikon and cucumber.
- Roasted suckling pig with moo shu pancakes and matching condiments.
- Pork meat balls with water chestnut and salted egg yolk.
- Glazed suckling pig rib with vinegar lacquer.
- Stir fry suckling pig with sour mustard greens, black bean and chilli.
- Double braised suckling pig hock with mei cai pickles and superior soy.
In keeping with the authentic flavours, dishes will be accompanied with seasonal vegetables, Shanghainese salted pork rice and matched local wines throughout the night.
