International electric violinist Rupert Guenther performs with an all-star band, playing the music of The Shadows and famous instrumentals from 1960s surf culture.

This music came to epitomise the soundtrack of many people’s lives as well as the beach lifestyle of the era. Riding waves, days in the hot summer sun and nights relaxing under the stars are captured in hits such as Apache, Sleepwalk and Wipe Out.

Rupert has performed with Olivia Newton- John, Beatles producer Sir George Martin, John Farnham and Demis Roussos. With a talented backup band, Rupert uses his dazzling skills on the electric violin to create an evocative and family friendly, all-ages show.

"The Don" is a purpose-built facility 17 kms south-east of the Perth central business district. This busy suburban venue presents more than 30 mostly professional performing arts events each year. These include a monthly Morning Melodies program, school holidays performances and major monthly shows, often on national and statewide tours. It also stages around 60 hire events annually. These diverse events are from a broad range of schools, community groups, businesses and cultural organisations.

Intimate viewing, comfortable seating, technical sophistication and friendly professional staff make The Don one of the gems in Perth's performing arts scene.
