The ecological grief space is not only a space that honours and acknowledges our love and connection to our natural environment, it explores the very nature of grief itself. This space was inspired and created by a group of women who while experiencing their own grief around the loss of our natural environment through the fires and other human impacts wanted to offer a space where others could come and explore, understand, share and express their own grief too. This process of grieving is facilitated through a diverse range of interactive activities.

To process grief four main elements are involved:
- Nature, time and space; for reflecting and processing
- Community; for empathy, connecting and sharing
- Rituals; for honouring and acknowledging
- Creative productivity; for expression and affirmation

Visitors will be able to move gently through the process of grief by having all their senses engaged in a range of transformative activities. Activities that use elements from nature and manmade art and media.

The space will have teachers, therapists, environmentalists and artists available to support people in their exploration of making their invisible feelings visible.

Activities and installations include:

- An art and craft table
- Community 3D mural.
- A nature altar and candle pond
- Planter boxes for digging, composting and planting
- A meditation space
- Inspiring range of multi media
- Rituals for healing
- Plus much more. Every visitor will be able to take home a native tubestock to help regrow our natural environment.

This space is part of the Art for the Heart exhibition; an exhibition exploring the experience of loss, love and hope through creative expression.
