Junior Rangers: Insect Investigators

Grab a magnifying glass and bug-catcher then, presto! You’re an ‘Insect Investigator’! Delve into the wonderful world of bugs and mini-beasts, alongside our Park Rangers, to enjoy some hands-on, ‘bug-tastic’ fun in nature! Meet some 6-legged and 8-legged critters and investigate the clues they leave behind. Go on a bug-hunt ‘in the wild’ using your newly acquired detective skills. How many mini-beasts will you find? Then create an edible insect to take home. Yum!

What to expect:
- Kids become a Junior Park Ranger
- Meet a real Park Ranger
- Learn about our unique insects
- All-day admission to the Wildlife Centre
- Kids receive a Junior Ranger kit, including fun activities and collectables

What to bring:
- Suitable clothing including a hat, comfortable fitting clothing and enclosed footwear. Be prepared for all weather—bring a hat, sunscreen and wet weather gear just in case.
- Packed lunch and snacks as well as a refillable water bottle. Due to the field-based nature of the activity there is no access to the Walkabout Creek Café. Food can be purchased from the Walkabout Creek Café prior to or after the activity.

Booking conditions:
- Children must be ages 5–8 years.
- Parents/guardians will be unable to accompany their children during the activity and must purchase individual admission ticket/s if they wish to explore the Wildlife Centre at their own pace.
- No refunds for cancellations, although credit may be given where applicable.
