Composer, Freedman Fellow and Artistic Director of The Three Seas, Matt Keegan uses the Octatrack (a dynamic performance sampler) to inspire melodic and rhythmic improvised dialogue between saxophone and drums.

Against this sonic backdrop, Matt skilfully explores his full palette of otherworldly effects, crafted over the past 20 years of creative exploration accompanied by improviser and percussionist Miles Thomas.

An in-demand drummer for the likes of Montaigne, Japanese Wallpaper, Lior and Clare Bowen - Miles approach is expressive and unconventional. In this setting, his improvisations are perfect accompaniment to Matt's electro-acoustic sound world.
Expect the unexpected, a playful performance full of groove.

Bonus Archival Footage: THEAK-TET, BAND OF FIVE NAMES

Theak-tet was described by All About Jazz as "a fine example of the vibrant Down Under post bop scene". At home Dave Theak was building a reputable career leading this celebrated ensemble for more than a decade. At the legendary Walsh Bay “Bayside Brasserie”, Dave is joined by Matt McMahon, James Muller, Craig Scott and Dave Goodman.

Described by the Sydney Morning Herald as "profound", this masterful meeting of the Band of Five Names features Matt McMahon, Phil Slater and Simon Barker.
