Our lives are shaped by the stories we tell about our lives. Stories about who we are and what has happened to us. Stories about what others have done, and why we’ve done what we’ve done. But stories are not facts. And our life stories are not finished.

In this powerful and personal talk, psychotherapist Carol-Ann Allen shares how we can find deeper, healing guidance when we revisit painful, pivotal stories from our past with an open mind and open heart.

"Our familiar stories are full of transforming surprises. There’s always more to know because we are still growing, and still learning how to learn. So we are challenged to keep these guiding stories open-ended, alive, and growing with us."

Carol-Ann's moving and thought-provoking talks are filled with wisdom, warmth and humour. But be warned, they can be life-changing.

"The message of Carol-Ann’s talks is vital and refreshing.” "Brave, inspiring, gentle.” "Beautifully crafted and courageous.”

The old stories we tell can hold us back or help us grow. Come and learn about the transformative and healing power of updating your story.

Updating Our Stories, Healing Our Lives is a free event. Seating is limited and by reservation only. Reserve your seat early. You are also invited to join Carol-Ann for an informal Q&A following her talk. And as we finish, you'll enjoy a brilliant view overlooking St Kilda beach at sunset.

Carol-Ann Allen, LMFT has over 25 years experience as a psychotherapist and relationship counsellor, working with individuals, couples and families. Her private practice, Melbourne Psychotherapy Services, is located in St Kilda.
