A Girl Is a Half-Formed Thing is a play about the defiant power of choice, even when that choice is almost incomprehensibly self-destructive. The play recounts the life of an unnamed narrator “girl”, and her unnamed brother as he struggles with cancer and she struggles with psychological, physical and sexual abuse. A one-woman show described by the New York Times as "ghostly and beautiful” .

The 85-minute monologue sees dozens of different characters live though Annette’s portrayal of “girl” as memories placing the audience inside “girls” mind forcing them to see the world through her eyes. It is a testament to the immense strength of the Girl, - and to Anette’s extraordinary range – that such moments feel at home in the midst of the horror the permeates the piece.

An original choral score reflecting the plays strong religious themes supports the drama. Irony and foreshadowing are littered all through the soundtracks lyrical content.

This is a deeply upsetting play, that not everyone will be able to see. But it is a play that deserves to be seen.
