Curiously Social Creatures

People can be fun. Talking with people and getting to know them can be really fun!

The social event 'Curiously Social Creatures' begins by introducing the rules for 'Q&A'. This is a structured way of having conversations in groups of about five other people, at times funny, at times profound, at times... whatever mood your group is in.

It's a way of getting to know people that doesn't hinge on the usual social laws; the structure allows people that normally carry the conversational load to sit back and relax, and it allows for quieter people to be heard.

It's a bit like speed-dating. Except it's not quick, and nor is it about dating. And nor does it feel like a dating or pick-up event. But you do get to connect with a bunch of folks.

We change the groups around half way through the event, so that you'll have a different group of people to get to know.

This is the only event that Curious Creatures runs at a pub - we find a drink helps lubricate conversations, and it’s nice to be able to eat, too.

We run five versions of this event:
- Version for the public - all welcome, is for literally anyone.
- Version for ‘Curiosity people only’ 0 is only for people that have done the ‘Curiosity’ workshop
- Version for non-monogamous and poly-identified folks... is for anyone that self-identifies as being interested in non-monogamous relationship styles.
- Version for folks that are interested in kink, BDSM, or fetishes.
- Version for folks that identify as queer, non-binary, trans, or a-gendered.

Curiously Social Creatures is presented by Roger Butler or Tess. Rog has been the principal facilitator and driving force behind Curious Creatures for nine years. Their training is in sexuality, facilitation, and counselling, and they’re easily one of Australia’s most prolific sexuality facilitators. Tess is an experienced facilitator in sexuality and self-development, and has been co-facilitating for Curious Creatures for over three years. They’re also a qualified occupational therapist with a deep passion for, and experience working in, sexuality in neurological rehabilitation and disability, in community and clinical settings. LATE POLICY: This workshop, ‘Curiously Social Creatures’, is the only Curious Creatures workshop where we’ll let you in if you’re more than 10 minutes late. Obviously, we’d prefer you to be on time, but if you get delayed, you should turn up anyway.

TICKETS ON DOOR? All workshop tickets must be pre-purchased online, before the event. It is never possible to pay cash at the door; you will be turned away.

Our 'rounds' of tickets are really simple: they're all the same, except that some of them are cheaper, to encourage you to book in early (because it makes a huge difference to us in terms of planning).

For this workshop, tickets range in price from $20 to $30, per person.
