We all seek an occasional escape from the noise and chaos that swarms our existence: a frenzy of daily activities, societal issues and personal struggles. This noise can be loud and overwhelming, so by escaping the noise, our senses are heightened, and we are given an opportunity for self-reflection. We gather our thoughts, organise our dreams, and allow our body to breathe.
‘ESCAPE’ by Jennifer Gaye exhibits this rebirth through the collection of vibrant colours and directional stitching that travel across the artworks, showcasing the organisation of thought and waves of emotion. Each mixed media canvas, fine art paper & textile piece captures a different moment in the process of reflection, and the varying textures, hues and compositions share a story of escape: Jennifer Gaye’s story.
