This May, the Johnnie Highball is coming to Sydney, as the world’s #1 Scotch Whisky brand, Johnnie Walker, partners with premier Asian dining precinct, Spice Alley, to offer a unique Aperitivo experience.

Renowned for its flavourful whiskies that have been enjoyed for 200 years, Johnnie Walker is hosting a month-long residency within the popular Asian hawker centre to enable diners the chance to discover and share the surprisingly delicious experience of a Johnnie Highball, through this special food pairing occasion.

In honour of the Johnnie Highball, Spice Alley will be turning up the heat in May with a number of bookable Johnnie Highball experiences, to step up your Aperitivo game. Want to learn how to Johnnie Highball like a pro? Join Diageo Whisky Ambassador, Katie Nagar, who’ll be hosting Highball Masterclass sessions throughout the month.

Or if you’re looking to impress on your next group dinner reservation, book your friends in for the Highball House Private Dining Experience and enjoy pairing Spice Alley dishes with a bespoke Johnnie Highball menu, complete with table service.

The Johnnie Highball is also taking over Kensington St, with The Old Clare Hotel, Cartel, Gin Lane and Blossom Bar offering Johnnie Highball cocktails to complement their menus.

More than just a Whisky and soda, a Johnnie Highball is meant to be enjoyed with food and complemented by global fusion cuisine to bring out the drink’s fresh and vibrant flavours. A combination of Johnnie Walker Black Label, mixer and ice, topped with a garnish, a Johnnie Highball is the ideal way to get acquainted with the world of whisky and explore the rich, full flavours of Johnnie Walker.

Melissa Maidment, Marketing Manager for Johnnie Walker said: “Whilst Whisky is best known in its traditional serves – neat and on the rocks, this year it’s all about the Johnnie Highball – a perfect complement to Aperitivo food.

“As Sydney’s premier Asian food, dining and cultural hub, Spice Alley offers diners a chance to be transported from the alley ways of Chippendale to the streets of Asia. Combined with the fresh flavours of a Johnnie Highball, tailor-made to complement the fare on offer with fusions such as the Johnnie & Ginger Lychee Highball, and the Johnnie & Lemongrass Highball, this event makes for the perfect pairing occasion, giving diners the opportunity to experience this season’s must-have drink, with their favourite dishes.”
