The annual Kickstart Summer Concert featuring James Reyne, Daryl Braithwaite, Diesel, Russell Morris, Thirsty Merc plus local artists.

James Reyne’s songs have provided the soundtrack to endless Australian summers, including The Boys Light Up, Reckless, Beautiful People, Lakeside, Daughters Of The Northern Coast, Fall Of Rome, Hammerhead, Motor’s Too Fast and Slave. Earlier this year he released his first new album in eight years -Toon Town Lullaby - to rave reviews, which is exactly forty years after the release of Australian Crawl’s debut album, The Boys Light Up.

In November 1988 Daryl Braithwaite released the phenomenally successful album Edge, which spent well over a year in the national ARIA chart, peaking at #1 for several weeks. In 1989 it became the highest selling CD in Sony Music Australia’s history, spawning 5 hit singles including One Summer, written by Daryl, which went on to achieve gold status. In November 1990 Daryl released his follow up album Rise, again proving that he had what it takes to make an album work and both the critics and public agreed. Rise boasted a further 5 hit singles. The most popular was undoubtedly The Horses, holding the #1 position on the national charts.

After over a decade of making music, Australian rock stalwarts Thirsty Merc are hungrier than ever before. They’ve released an indie EP, which garnered Triple J airplay back in 2003, three critically acclaimed studio albums, an acoustic fan favourites record entitled AAA: Acoustic Anniversary Album and a swag of classic tracks such as 20 Good Reasons, Emancipate Myself, Someday Someday, Mousetrap Heart and In The Summertime.

Diesel and his three-piece band will perform songs from his new release Sunset Suburbia plus a selection of his greatest iconic hits including Tip of My Tongue, Crying Shame and Soul Revival, these shows are not to be missed. Diesel says, “as always, touring these songs with the band they will no doubt take on a life of their own and in turn have an influence on the rest of the set, comprising of a collection of hits, forever changing as they are still finding their place in the world too”.
