the Melbourne jazz piano luncheons are a Melbourne institution, having started back in 1987, with participation by many notable Melbourne jazz musicians over the years. A relaxing and entertaining afternoon incorporating a smorgasbord of solo piano performances with tunes by well-known composers such as Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Chick Corea, Victor Young, Bill Evans and many more. Featuring Leon Heale (double bass) and Larry Keane (drums), and guest artist Chuck Probert on trumpet. Featured pianists for April are Cathy Connor, Ken Cowan, David Allardice, Jo Abbott and Herman Schwaiger. Excellent bistro lunch available and bar service. No cover charge but bookings highly recommended.
