ATTEMPTS ON HER LIFE by Martin Crimp.
Directed by Saro Lusty-Cavallari.

I feel like a screen. Like a TV screen where everything from the front looks real and alive, but round the back there’s just dust and a few wires.

Meet Anne. Annie. Anya. Anushka. The New Anny - which comes with electric windows as standard! From the streets of the Mediterranean to Parisian boulevards. The cover of Vogue to a local singles group. Her name is on the lips of police, lawyers, film execs, doctors, terrorists, art critics, mum and dad. She’s a pornographic movie star, a killer and a brand of car.

Martin Crimp’s 1997 masterpiece has been perplexing and inspiring audiences for almost two decades. Written against the backdrop of media saturation, Eastern European conflict and a spike in right wing terrorism the play has never felt more vital. After years honing their craft at the beloved, Kings Cross Theatre, Montague Basement are putting it all on the table for one final farewell to the venue with a production that is sure to be remembered.
