Anchor Restaurant is paying homage to the tastes of France this Bastille Day, offering a very special three-course set dinner menu featuring only the finest quality produce, transporting guests to Europe from Elwood.

The team at Anchor has a reputation for fine French dishes from their previous restaurant, Curly Whiskers in Brighton, as well as serving up some French-influenced dishes at Anchor on their Modern Australian menu. Now, guests can enjoy a truly delicious French dinner created especially for Bastille Day.

For $85 per person, guests will kick the night off with three delectable starters of Coquilles St Jacques (sashimi-grade WA Scallops, beetroot vinaigrette and champagne sauce), Pâté (Organic Milawa chicken liver, smooth pâté), and Terrine (ground organic Milawa chicken with seasoning and pistachio, cooked in a water bath). The pȃté and terrine will both be served with toasted bread and cornichons.

To follow for mains, diners will have the option of choosing meltingly tender Duck Cassoulet (Milawa free range duck legs slowly cooked in duck fat and pan fried, served with cassoulet) or classic Beef Bourguignon (tender fall apart chunks of Cape Grim beef simmered in a rich red wine sauce). Mains will be served with a side of Duck Fat Potatoes with other side dishes available a la carte.

Guests will end the evening on a high in true French style, with a choice between tempting Tarte Tatin (upside down pastry made with caramelised Victorian grown unwaxed Pink Lady apples) and velvety Crème Brulee (a very smooth, creamy pudding with a brittle top using Schulz organic cream from Timboon and Milawa organic egg yolk).
