Many adventures awaited the heroes and heroines of ancient Greek myth, and the narratives of their journeys often mirror each other – from the call to adventure to hazardous returns home from war and enforced migration.

Inevitably, they met with challenges along the way, from the hazards of sea-faring, to encounters with exotic foreigners and deadly monsters.

Host Gillian Shepherd traces these extraordinary journeys with experts K.O. Chong-Gossard, Claudia Sagona and Heather Sebo.

Presented in collaboration with the Hellenic Museum, La Trobe University and Museums Victoria, as part of the Open Horizons: Ancient Greek Journeys and Connections exhibition program.

This program will be held at the Hellenic Museum. Ticket sales via Melbourne Museum website.
