Looking for snack-size entertainment? The Madwomen Monologues are back for a 12th season of brilliant, bite-sized stories at The Butterfly Club in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD.

There’s something for everyone with two programs of six monologues each, featuring an array of comic and dramatic characters such as the deceptively friendly potter in Alison Knight’s deliciously unsettling I’m the Potter; a young woman rejecting a blindly romantic gesture in Jessica Rijs’s blisteringly funny Poets Don’t Know How to Give Head; the grief of a woman whose husband was killed in a road accident in Kate Rotherham’s achingly beautiful Permanent Mark; and the comic outrage expressed when the meticulous planning and execution of a Great-British-Bake-Off-worthy cake ends in disaster in Bridgette Burton’s hilarious Frosting.

Written entirely by women, Madwomen Monologues has become a much-anticipated annual event showcasing a feminist perspective with insight, empathy and wit.

Enjoy a drink at The Butterfly Club’s eclectic cocktail bar and dive into the Madwomen Monologues - see one program or both in one night. Whether it’s date night or a girls night, it all adds up to a highly entertaining and satisfying evening of theatre.

Mon-Sat, 7-12 November 2022
Program One, 7pm; Program Two, 8.30pm
