Bootleggers and Kelly's On King present Taylor B-W BTW TBW EP Launch + HiA & Josué, supported by our mates at Young Henrys.
TAYLOR B-W:
A modern-day nostalgia Queen, Taylor B-W serves unapologetic, phat pop/r&b music with ‘lyricism that is personal, relatable, and tackling a full spectrum of emotion’.
Sassy, impassioned, strong and, most of all, honest, B-W has curated six killer songs, spanning across the last six years of her life, wrapped them inside a polished package with a sparkly bow, and will deliver them as her debut EP, BTW TBW - out on August 26th.
Performing frequently on stages around Sydney (selling out The Vanguard, Street Market and Django Bar) B-W’s shows are driven by her soulful, powerful voice and high-energy stage presence. With her singles from the EP: 'I'm So Broke’ ‘In Ur Net’ and ‘Tears Of Coal’ getting airplay and recognition on various platforms and radio, including CADA (formerly The Edge 96.1), Triple J Unearthed, MTV Upload and FBi, B-W is beginning to make a name for herself in the scene.
She rediscovered her passion for music after initially pursuing an acting career. After developing health issues due to the pressure of such a career she then switched her attention to wildlife conservation, becoming a qualified zookeeper at Sydney’s Taronga Training Institute, and is still involved in her generation’s climate change activism.
B-W won the Australian segment of the unsigned-artist competition, Emergenza, & went on to win Best Vocalist at the 2018 international finals in Germany. She is the daughter of legendary NZ singer, Mark Williams.
HiA:
HiA (Haitians in Australia) is an Alternative Hip Hop Band. David, Hilton and Nancy Denis are a sibling trio - together they produce and write original tracks inspired by their lives growing up Haitian in Australia. Their music is a mixture of Hip Hop, R&B and Soul.
Josué:
Josué glues together a truly authentic soul and R&B sound and contemporary songwriting. His vocal capabilities are widely regarded as some of the most exciting skills amongst Australia’s emerging soul singers. As a writer, his originals are brave and transparent, breaking out of the common themes of R&B. He travels across ideas of self-reflection and growth and pays tribute to the great writers of the 60s and 70s, which is a refreshing approach by a young artist from his heritage.
Doors 7:30 pm.
