TMO1

Returning to the Riverside Theatre in Parramatta, over 60 musicians of The Metropolitan Orchestra (TMO) will take to the stage for an incredibly powerful performance filled with spirited music. Setting a fast paced, energised tone will be Felix Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Arguably the most famous incidental music ever written, this work sets a lively tempo for the night of music ahead.

Chief Conductor Sarah-Grace Williams will then lead TMO in a fabulous new work from multi-talented Australian composer, Keyna Wilkins with the world premiere of her Triple Flute Concerto. Shining the spotlight on three of TMO’s outstanding flutists, this unique arrangement will highlight the exceptional capabilities of this magical instrument both in solo, and in partnership with the orchestra.

Following the interval, TMO’s final Met Concert of 2022 climbs to a mesmerising pinnacle with Edward Elgar’s incredible Enigma Variations. This powerful musical collection is filled with potent emotion and vivid scenery to end the night on an exhilarating musical high.

Supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW and The Inner West Council.
