fhae is a Meanjin-based experimental DIY solo project created by Ellena Ramsay, in which they combine ambient acoustic guitar and gut wrenching vocals. They use creative bedroom production paired with abstract household and DIY recording equipment to create a raw and unique sound.

Their second 'sombre thorax' is a turbulent pilgrimage through Ellena's adolescence.

This journey is exemplified through songs like ‘earth’ - a lyrically improvised track steeped in an ordinary moment, sitting cozily on a bed, staring out the window. ‘man’ is an unfettered tale of a contemptible act that took place at a party when they were 14 while ‘emergency’ is a pean to heavy pain medication and a “grumbly appendix”. ‘heard’ exhibits a more playful and sprightly side to fhae with the album as a whole being a bantam triumph of bedroom experimentation, layered guitar architecture and unshackled lyrical methods.

Aren't is the solo project of Meanjin-based musician Fionn Richards.
Following a history of writing often abrasive, art-focused music (see Requin), Aren’t is a return to a simpler, quieter arrangement. This melodic music is carried primarily by voice, nylon guitar, cello and piano.

The debut EP Creatures Of Habit, released late in 2021, features the voices of McKisko and Georgia Harvey (Yffer, Seagull) as well as the drum-work of producer Cam Smith (Spirit Bunny, Ghost Notes, Terra Pines).

Cloud Tangle is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist and producer Amber Ramsay, which combines visual media and composition to evoke a mood equally devastating and beautiful. The project formed in late 2014 and founded its relevance in 2016 through live shows in south east QLD.

Stemming from bedroom focused production and expansive instrumentation; the project forms its own unique sound that falls into a dark dreampop genre with elements of lo-fi and orchestral instrumentation. Ethereal vocals soar above intricate melodies and lush synthesizers, dragging you ever downward into a floating atmosphere. The sonic elements gather with rawness and texture, while lyrical content stems from deep concepts of human emotions.
