Presenting 21 events, the annual Peninsula Summer Music Festival will ring in the New Year with a deliciously diverse program of contemporary and classical music permeating the vibrant and beautiful Mornington Peninsula, its hot springs, wine estates and church gardens from Sunday 1 to Thursday 19 January 2023.

In:Ventum: An exploration of wind instruments and invention- concepts musically unite and challenge each other in this recital embracing music from the Middle Ages to the twenty-first century. Although only two compositions bear the name “Fantasie”, the musical concept of an improvised thought or a written down improvisation is a returning aspect in all pieces - and so is its counterpart: strictly “designed” compositions following clear rules, which often have evolved from improvisational practice, offer an artistic and musical antithesis.

Fantasy & Design is an exciting time travel through 800 years of recorder repertoire executed by one of the foremost performers of today, with music by Van Eyck, Bassano, J.S. Bach, G.P. Telemann, Hosokawa, Yun and more.
