Jim Moginie's contribution to Midnight Oil cannot be denied, as a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, he wrote or contributed to most of the band's iconic songs. Moginie's other projects include touring/recording two albums with The Break, a surf/space rock outfit featuring members of Midnight Oil, Violent Femmes and Hunters and Collectors, has also toured with the Australian Chamber Orchestra and with his bands The Electric Guitar Orchestra and the Family Dog and has recorded five solo works, and now Murmurations.

The Old Museum show will be in two parts: Firstly the instrumental Murmurations which was written for solo electric guitar and was inspired by the murmurations of swallows which he witnessed on winters evenings in Ireland. The second, songs from his extensive back catalogue including songs written with and for Midnight Oil, his solo projects and covers of some of his favourites.
