New Year's Eve Community Rollerskate

Celebrate NYE 123123 with us - It's the only time this millennium that New Year's Eve falls on the number sequence 12.31.23 (Month 12, Day 31, Year 23)!!!

This community roller skate at Mudgeeraba netball courts is hosted by Gold Coast Rollout.

On the day, if rain looks possible, we will disclose on the event page by 4pm latest, an awesome undercover venue that's just 20mins away. Please note; if we switch to the exclusive use of the alternative large private venue, the venue charges a small fee for skaters, spectators are free.

- ALL AGES: Toddlers to seniors!
- ALL ABILITIES: Complete beginners through to skaters from Instagram, Facebook, TikTok & YouTube!
- ALL WHEELS: Roller skates, inline blades, scooters, unicycles, skateboards, longboards, wheelchairs, buggies etc!
- NO WHEELS: We don't want anyone left behind at this time of year. Don't have wheels, no problem; sit and watch us skate, or walk/run laps around the courts; friendly dogs welcome! Especially welcome is anyone on their own at this time of the year; maybe through bereavement, separation, an empty nest, or just struggling with the whole xmas/NYE thing, or whatever - Don't be alone, come hang with us. Please say hello to co-founder/host Julio if you come.
- ALL SKATE STYLES: Skate laps around the courts, or try weaving through all the cones, or get your groove on with the jam/rhythm dance skaters that attend our rollouts, or try tricks with co-founder/host Julio.
- GAMES: Depending on numbers, we run occasional games loved by little kids - big kids are welcome to join it too! Games can include limbo, race to the rubber duck, statues, rollertrain, monkey race, & human vs dogs (kids race Julio being pulled by his two friendly dogs Redbull & Molly!).
- MUSIC: Family friendly music, song requests welcome.
- CHALK COLLAB: Near our music speaker free chalks are on hand for kids to collab on a beautiful floor drawing.
- LEARN TO SKATE & DO TRICKS & ROLLERDANCE: We're not selling anything, we just love skating, & we have members from all skate backgrounds happy to help you on your skate journey, whether that's just basic skate skills, rollerdance, tricks, skatepark ramps/grinds/bowls, etc. Co-founder/host Julio will help with any questions you have, or your skate technique, & even some 1-to-1 assistance with skate basics.

ABOUT US: The Gold Coast Rollout Facebook group & Instagram page has thousands of members & followers in our city that roller skate/blade for fun or professionally, across all skate disciplines (dance/jam/rhythm skating, roller derby, figure skating, speed skating, trick/slalom, aggressive skating, etc). We share tips & arrange skate meet-ups including our main community skate in a different GC location each Sunday 3pm...Our admins include top skaters across disciplines in a voluntary community spirit promoting skating; doing it so we practise & learn together for free & for fun.
