Penfolds Winter Solstice Fortified Wine Long Lunch

Penfolds invites you to warm up and celebrate the shortest day in the year with a long lunch that champions the Penfolds fortified wine collection in their spectacular underground cellar at the home of Penfolds in Magill on 23 June 2023.

The Solstice Fortified Lunch starts with guests being welcomed with a fortified cocktail to enjoy around fire pits before they make their way into the warm cellar to enjoy a delicious four-course shared menu, paired fortified wines for an afternoon of cosy decadence over four hours.

Fortified wines have a long history in the Penfolds story.  Guests will be served a selection of wines, some of which are rare and no longer commercially produced, handpicked by the Penfolds Global Ambassador, Jamie Sach and Penfolds Wine Maker Matt Woo, who are hosting the afternoon.

Penfolds Apera, Father Tawny, Grandfather Tawny, Topaque and the opulent Great Grandfather Rare Tawny - a blend of Mataro, Shiraz and Grenache matured in seasoned casks for a minimum of 30 years – are some of the wines on offer.

Expect the warm Penfolds hospitality as you move through four scrumptious courses prepared by celebrated Penfolds Chef, Scott Huggins which includes everything from a delicious charcuterie, confit duck, T-bone steak, dessert and cheeses to finish off.
