In 2011 the Young Australian Broadway Chorus produced the Melbourne Premier of Spring Awakening. We are thrilled to bring this edgy multi-award-winning musical back to the stage in January 2023.

Winner of 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Spring Awakening is based on the play by German dramatist Frank Wedekind. Situated in 1891 Germany, Spring Awakening explores the journey from adolescence into adulthood through a compelling fusion of morality, sexuality and rock and roll.

A celebration of youth and rebellion, the story follows a group of German students as they navigate themes of sexual awakenings, and the control of information by parents, teachers and the community.

Please note that Spring Awakening contains adult themes and situations including sex scenes, domestic violence, incest, rape, teen pregnancy, abortion, death including suicide, as well as strong language.
