Kingston, Jamaica; 1962. For Charles, Terrance, and Margaret - the humble public servants of Station J, a remote communication outpost of the British Secret Service - the new day brings a familiar routine in their far-flung corner of the Empire: Petty office politics, filing (in triplicate), and vast quantities of tea (milk, three sugars). But when a legendary Double-O agent bursts through their door, bearing tidings of terrifying twists, dastardly deceptions, and pernicious plots, the staff of Station J suddenly find themselves thrust centre-stage in the climax of a super-spy thriller. With the clock ticking inexorably down to doomsday, it’s up to Station J’s trio of would-be secret agents to untangle a web of international intrigue, apply their skills of exemplary espionage… and save the ruddy world!
Welcome to Station J, a lovingly light-hearted homage to the works of Ian Fleming, John Le Carre, and Graham Greene, where Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy meets Fawlty Towers… with just a dash of Octopussy. Written by Kieran Bullock (The Ides of March, the Big Hoo Haa!) and Jack Richardson (The Jacobeans, Faces For Radio), and filled with satirical wit, toast-dry humour, and old-fashioned daring-do, Station J is an outrageous comedy of spies, lies, and cricket scores!
Content Warning: Station J contains occasional very mild language, infrequent comedic violence, and several loud noises and some flashing lights. No strobe or smoke effects are used in this production.
