Words in Winter, Poetry Reading with Stephanie Powell

Stuck between everyday and imagined worlds, the Gentle Creatures are in the house. Join Stephanie for an hour of poetry from her latest collection (Vagabond Press, 2023) and for the debut of some brand new work. Described as original, surprising and rich in understated luminosity, Powell is the winner of the 2022 Melbourne Poets Union Poetry Prize and has been published widely in Australia and the UK.

Gentle Creatures is her second full-length collection. A relaxed session with a wine (or two), the audience is invited to interact, to ask any questions they may have about the collection and the process of poem making.
