Ampol State of Origin returns to Melbourne in 2024, with the Game II blockbuster set to take place at the MCG on Wednesday June 26 for the first time since 2018.

This year is the 30th anniversary of the first Origin game at the MCG in 1994, in what is set to be a grand spectacle for the City of Melbourne. The NSW Blues won the first 1994 match and have a favourable 4-1 record at the MCG, a good omen for new Blues coach Michael Maguire. Slater, meanwhile, is going for three straight series wins in as many years in the role.
