Uniting Productions presents Illuminati, a compelling and thought provoking original play written with humour and sincerity by Central Coast playwright Sal Bartley. Known for her high quality one act plays, including her recent success with the globally recognised Short + Sweet Sydney 2024 play festival this is Sal's first full length play.
THE STORY
Directed by Ron Baker, the setting is an anger management class; we meet Sean, the 'Life Support Counsellor' and self confessed Trekkie; Axel, who believes he has been dealt a dud hand; Poppy, a hippy who is too busy watching Big Brother; and Milly who knows what she wants but can't find her voice.
Join them on an entertaining journey to enlightenment with unexpected surprises and laughs along the way as they all discover that the meaning of a happy, fulfilling and rewarding life, really is an inside job.
Great original script. Great local cast. A guaranteed night (or matinee) to remember.
RON BAKER, DIRECTOR - What do I think of Illuminati?
I like the clever script with its distinctly different, well-drawn characters each with their own idiosyncrasies as they journey to more positive outcomes. I also enjoy the moments of humour within the serious subject matter.
We are so lucky to have a cast who like to explore and discuss character development and relationships and who offer thoughtful suggestions which enhance the performance.
