Joe Jackson drops lawsuit against Michael's doc

TMZ are reporting that Joe Jackson is dropping his wrongful death lawsuit against Dr. Conrad Murray, whom he blamed for the 2009 death of his son, Michael Jackson.

Jackson filed a request with the court, which was obtained by TMZ, asking to dismiss his 2010 suit against Murray without prejudice.

In the suit, it was alleged that Murray had withheld vital information from the doctors and EMTs trying to save MJ’s life on the day he died – specifically the fact he had administered Propofol.

Joe is still a nominal party in Katherine Jackson’s civil suit against AEG, the concert promoters for Michael’s This Is It tour. The claimants allege the company was negligent for hiring Murray as Michael’s personal doctor during the tour. They also claim that in doing so, AEG breached its contract to provide proper physical care for the singer.

Murray’s lawyers Charles Peckham and Valerie Wass told TMZ that Joe Jackson had not received any money from Murray, and the reason for his request to dismiss the case is unknown to them.

Peckham told TMZ, "Cooler heads have prevailed."
