Vivid Sydney will make history this year when the light, music and ideas event extends to the Darling Harbour for a spectacle of dancing water fountains, water screen projection performances and light and water shows.

Announced today by NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment, Andrew Stoner, the 18-day festival has teamed with France’s Aquatique Show International to make this possible.

Andrew Stoner said: “Vivid Sydney brings visitors something new and spectacular every year – and this year is no exception. Bringing Vivid Light to Darling Harbour will give visitors an amazing and unique Australian-first experience that will showcase the world’s best lighting and water technology, artistry and design. It’s sure to be something people will come back to many times over the duration of Vivid Sydney.”

Aquatique Show International have developed and installed choreographed water and light shows for more than 30 years in over 52 countries.

One of the features will be a twenty-metre ‘Magic Wall’ of illuminated water jets. The wall is a reimagining of the Versailles Fountain.

Last year saw over 500,000 people attend over the few weeks it was held, generating global media coverage in over 150 countries and tens of millions of dollars in new business for NSW.

Vivid Sydney takes place in Sydney from 24 May to 10 June.
