Hans Zimmer To Tour Australia In May

Set your eyes for a revelation as Grammy, Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning composer, Hans Zimmer, plays Australian arena shows for his new concert experience ‘Hans Zimmer Revealed’ this May. Zimmer will perform four shows kicking off in Sydney, then to Melbourne and Brisbane before heading to Perth for the final show.

‘Hans Zimmer Revealed’ features a career-spanning music from Zimmer's multi-decade career. Meeting rave reviews, the tour kicked off earlier this year with a sold-out two night run at London’s Wembley Arena before winding up a 33-city run that featured shows in major European cities including London, Paris, Munich, Prague, Geneva, Dublin and Vienna.

The concert is divided into two parts: the first highlights some of Zimmer’s classic movie scores and the second offers re-imagined versions of some classic scores such as The Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception with special guests from the rock and pop world.

“Performing a concert series like this is something that I have always wanted to do, and I am thrilled to visit Australia and New Zealand and return to Europe where we had so much fun playing in the summer.” said Zimmer. “I am very excited to get some of my very talented friends together and give our audiences an experience unlike any concert they have ever been to before.”

Hans Zimmer has scored more than 120 films, which have, combined, grossed over 24 billion dollars at the worldwide box office. His upcoming film projects include Sean Penn’s The Last Face and 20th Century Fox’s Hidden Figures, with Pharrell Williams and Ben Wallfisch due out on January 2017.

Zimmer has collected an Academy Award®, two Golden Globes®, three Grammys®, an American Music Award, and a Tony® Award. His most recent Academy Award-nomination for Interstellar marks his 10th career Oscar nomination with the Academy.

He received the prestigious Henry Mancini award for Lifetime Achievement presented by ASCAP in 2013 for his impressive and influential body of work. He also garnered his Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010, and in 2014 was honored with the Zurich Film Festival Lifetime Achievement Award. Zimmer recently completed his first concerts in the UK, “Hans Zimmer Revealed,” at the Eventim Hammersmith Apollo, and concluded his first ever European tour, “Hans Zimmer Live,” on June 5, 2016.

Zimmer’s remarkable musical ingenuity shimmers in his scores for Rain Man, Driving Miss Daisy, Thelma & Louise, Crimson Tide, The Thin Red Line, Gladiator, Mission: Impossible II, Hannibal, Pearl Harbor, Tears of the Sun, Spanglish, The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, the Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar films, The Da Vinci Code, Frost/Nixon, and The Lion King, for which he won the Academy Award.
