Coast Yoga

Coast Yoga is the Iyengar Yoga Centre south of Adelaide near Brighton. The Centre has been providing Iyengar yoga to Adelaide since 1994. Vanessa Shribman is the director of Coast Yoga and has been accredited as an Iyengar Yoga teacher in Adelaide since 2000. Iyengar yoga is named after BKS Iyengar who is considered the main and most influential proponent of modern yoga. He was an inspiring master of yoga who came from humble beginnings to become the world authority on the practice of yoga. His career spanned over 70 years until his death in 2014. His method is based in classical yoga and the Yoga sutras of Patanjali. Yoga means union. Iyengar yoga unites body, mind and breath and transforms them. The centre's Iyengar yoga classes teach strength and stamina, flexibility and balance, concentration and meditation.
