The CSU Riverina Playhouse is an intimate 211 tiered seat thrust stage venue which has hosted theatre, musical theatre, classical and popular music, dance, conferences and seminars for over 32 years.
It was built jointly in 1986 by Charles Sturt University and the local Professional Theatre Company and is now in the sole ownership and management of Charles Sturt University. Its design was based on The Octagon Theatre on the campus of The University Of Western Australia.
Facilities include a green room, 2 dressing rooms for up to 16 cast members. A comprehensive lighting grid, modern control surfaces and a recently refurbished sound rig. An extensive house light stock of conventional fixtures and some LED fixtures is also available.
The venue's intimacy and excellent sightlines enhance all performance genres. The building has undergone extensive renovations in 2018 to enhance the comfort and safety of performers and patrons.
