The historic village of Eltham is nestled in the hinterland between the glorious beaches of Byron Bay and colourful Nimbin. The Hotel itself was first built in 1902 when the town was a bustling railway village, and has been a favourite meeting place for the local community ever since.

The country pub has been family owned and operated by Lucinda and Toby Black since late 2008. The husband and wife team started their career in pubs when in Darwin, where they helped to manage Parap Village Tavern which has proudly been apart of Lucinda's family for four generations. 'The Parap', along with Howard Springs Tavern and Winnellie Cellars, is now run by her two elder brothers, Daniel and Matthew.

Since Lucinda and Toby have been at Eltham Hotel, they have breathed life into an old favourite. The interior and exterior have been painted in keeping with the village's heritage feel, retractable awnings have been added for extra room and protection from rain and sun, and the four rooms upstairs have been spruced up and are now a welcoming place for weary travellers to stay. Live music has been introduced over the weekends, adding to that unique Eltham atmosphere.
