The Great Alpine Gallery in the high country of East Gippsland was founded in 1998 as a non-profit community art-space operated entirely by volunteers. It is conveniently located on the Great Alpine Rd in Swifts Creek. The Gallery is open five days a week, from Wednesday to Sunday. Entry to the Gallery is free for all visitors, and everyone is welcome.
The Great Alpine Gallery's main area is composed of a gallery space featuring rotating displays of the work of local artists, as well as a number of special exhibitions each year. Many of the works on show are available for sale.
It also has a fantastic gift shop with a great variety of artwork available for purchase made exclusively by its local artists. The artworks make a wonderful purchase for yourself, or that unique gift for a special person or occasion.
