Illawarra Music Foundry

Illawarra Music Foundry aka "The Foundry" is a registered non-for-profit organisation. Its mission aims to engage all youth from 7yo to 25yo in all performance related art forms. All members of our staff have WWC Clearance to provide a safe space. We are located close to public transport, with free parking available after 5pm weekdays and weekends.

Musicians have easy access through loading dock for bump in with a trolley available and elevator to the second floor. Sound engineer and lighting are provided along with stage hand for all events. The stage is 7.2 x 3.4 Meters, with 5500 Watts of clear crisp digital speaker power. Venue capacity is 500—260 seated with 80 standing, or 500 standing. The Foundry provides for recording sessions, on stage performance workshops, rehearsal space, instrument and vocal tuition, jam sessions and nightly events 5 of 7 days a week. Volunteer positions are available in live sound, studio recording, lighting programming, video editing and stage management. Full training is provided and all ages welcome.

Disadvantaged and persons with disability are encouraged to apply. Courses run over a 6-week period and are free to successful applicants. It is engaged within the industry through Youth Services Australia, JMC Academy, Wollongong TAFE, Bandamonium Australia/USA, and with various recording labels.
