The Centre was established in 2004 under a Federal Government grant. The Australian Government allocated $70 million between 1 July 2000 and 30 June 2005 under the Telstra (Further Dilution of Public Ownership) Act 1999 to put services back and introduce new services to smaller rural towns.
The Menindee Transaction Centre is as individual and innovative as the community it serves and provides a range of services including the Community Library that is well stocked across all genres and for all ages; as well as the Broadband for Seniors Kiosk and Computer Lab where 7computers are available to the community.
