The Roxy Hotel was originally The Roxy Theatre which was opened on 6 February, 1930. The theatre's main entrance is surmounted by an impressive arch and an ornate Spanish Mission tower which was retained throughout reconstruction.
The theatre became part of the National Trust of Australia due to the building itself and the stylish historical setting. However, due to the importance of this magnificent monument in Australian history, there was an uproar when the Roxy Theatre shut it's doors forever after 72 years.
Now, The Roxy Hotel is a perfect place for an afternoon drink in the Courtyard, to view live entertainment and to hold functions in a sophisticated yet historic venue.
