Sam Knott Hotel

The historic Sam Knott Hotel is located in Wesburn in the picturesque Yarra Valley, Victoria. The hotel has occupied it's current site since 1885 and is named after that lovable character, Sam Knott, from the Carlton Ale poster (circa 1907). Located 72kms east of the Melbourne CBD on the Warburton Hwy, Sam Knott Hotel enjoys majestic mountain views in a well established and busy rural township. Just 23kms from Mount Donna Buang, Wesburn is popular with tourists, bike riders and hikers taking in the beautiful views from the many lookouts in surrounding areas.

The Warburton Hotel (Sam Knott Hotel) has high local significance as one of the districts oldest remaining hotels. The hotel is heritage listed, and located on an earlier site in Old Warburton from about 1864 and on its present site from 1885. Many stories surround the hotel and linger, like the ghost of Sam Knott.
