St Nicholas' Church

The Anglican Parish of Floreat Park was initially part of the Wembley Parish and later became a parish in its own right. At first, people from the Floreat area worshipped in the tennis club. They later moved to our first church hall.

The current Church of St Nicholas was consecrated on 20th October 1962. It was called the Sportsmen’s Church due to its connection with the British Empire Games held in Perth the same year. Many sporting organisations donated the beautiful jarrah pews which blend beautifully with the rich jarrah flooring. The stained glass windows were added later. Archbishop Roger Herft consecrated the icons of Jesus Christ Pantocrator and St Nicholas of Myra during at the 50th anniversary of the consecration of the church building in October 2012.
