Tweed Shire Council constructed and opened the Murwillumbah Civic Centre in 1975 as a multi-purpose auditorium. The venue was opened by the Hon. Tom Lewis on 24 May 1975. The Auditorium has performed a valuable role for the Shire and its community over the past 39 years.
