Two strangers wake up on a mysterious train one morning. They have no idea how they got there, no sense of their ultimate destination, and can only tell one thing for sure—day is turning to night, and the train is not stopping.

Making its premiere at Gasworks Arts Park 13–22 June, Two on the Night Train is an existential play
in the tradition of Beckett, with a strong emphasis on lighting and sound to bring this theatrical style into the 21st century.

For our characters, there are more questions than answers. As the world goes dark, we see how their relationship changes and grows more complex, even as they begin to understand less about the world around them. For a world riddled with uncertainty, and a generation unsure of so many things, the question of what it means to be has never been more interesting, or more urgent.

Produced by Glassbreaker Productions, Two on the Night Train is an original work presented by a small collective of young graduates of Western Australia’s Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).

Featuring Katherine Pearson (Three Penny Opera & Diary of Anne Frank feature stage roles, Wentworth feature TV role, currently filming Stan & Disney’s The Gloaming) and Frazer Lee
(Best Actor 2017 – 168 Film Festival The Gift). Written and directed by Martin Quinn (Writer & Director The Bar 2018).
