A presentation in English of the issue 500 of the journal 'il Mulino' on Italian migration.

Matteo Bonotti (Monash University) will analize the results of the survey about the journey of Italians abroad showing a short footage.

Guest speakers include Delfina Licata (Fondazione Migrantes della Conferenza Episcopale Italiana) who will talk via Skype of the section 'Fuori dall'Europa' [Outside Europe]; Robert Pascoe (Victoria University) who will examine the theme of the new migration to Australia, and finally Francesco Ricatti (Monash University) who will wrap up the meeting by touching on the various speeches and commenting on this special issue of the Italian journal.

A Q&A will follow the presentations.

In collaboration with the Department of Politics and International Relations (Monash University) and Monash Migration and Inclusion Centre.

'il Mulino' was founded in 1951 in Bologna and has been the starting point for numerous initiatives created by a group of young students. As the subtitle—Culture and Political Review—indicates, it covers social issues from both a polical and cultural perspective, taking into account the power politics has on influencing cultural changes. In doing this, the journal's approach is the same as when it was founded: combining traditional analysis with suggestions of change and renewal.
